Created in the context of the Venice Biennale in November of 2019, "May We Give in Testing Times" is an occurrence and a subversion of the subtitle of the event 'May We Live in Testing Times'.

 

Venezia was flooded at the time as a consequence of increasing pollution and climate change, precipitated and exacerbated by the ever increasing numbers of boats bringing attendants to the Biennale.

 

The work itself consists in recreating a Biennale on the street. The art being the produced work, as well as the relationship created and documented between the public and the 'model'. Dipingendo quello che avresti voluto vedere alla biennale.

 

Passersby are invited to add to the canvas and the puppet, progressively discovering "she is real".
